You're so write [sic]. I drew my interpretation of the "slap heard round the world" for my art class and then moved on. But I had had a relationship with Chris Rock: back in 2000 he optioned a short story of mine and then hired me to write the short film script for a project he was proposing to HBO, but then he cancelled his show and they canceled the project. My dreams crashed, but so did my belief in the romanticism of the "starving artist." What I was paid for the option and the script showed me that there was no shame to being paid what I was worth. I have to get back to that mindset and if you can help non-fiction writers, I believe you have what it takes to help us fiction writers, and even poets, yes poets, earn what we're worth. So let's go!

Brava Davida! You braved the biggest hurdle, the first step - Your story was accepted/optioned. For most of us we’ll always keep Creating bc that’s Who We Are, but that first outward Success, even the smallest, speaks volumes to our confidence and inspires larger undertakings.

100% Truth Spoken Here Ayo! Happened to turn around & accidentally saw the ‘Slap’ at a BD party. Stopped for 3mins to Google why it happened to find enough info (from 2016) then went back to what’s really important - making BG memories to write about!
